33 week pregnant pose

i'm a week behind in posting this, so that means that i may actually be bigger than this image reflects (hard to really wrap your mind around, i know). i'm currently at 34 weeks, but this picture was taken at 33. yes, that's right. i'm blossoming. my belly button couldn't protrude any more than it does, and i grunt when i tie my shoes. i'm most comfortable in these beloved blue sweats, and, sadly, i seem to be outgrowing my maternity shirts. it seems silly to buy more at this point though, and so i'll just keep yanking on them until they cover my belly.

little ziggy moves all the time. watching him move is like watching some strange alien moment from "men in black" or another extraterrestrial film. it's completely fascinating--but i still can't wait to see his little face. i'm hoping for lots and lots of rolls. chunkage. the good stuff.

brent's ready to play w/ him, too, which i love. i can't wait to see my man and my little man playing together. soon enough..... =)

daddy/daughter time

i thought this was so sweet, i had to take a few pix. i was sitting on the couch and brent was on the floor when millie decided to snuggle up next to him all on her own.

side note: millie is here pictured with one of her favorite toys. we got it for free at a hockey game and, at the time, it seemed way too big for little mildred. as it turns out though, it became a beloved friend....well, the kind that you chew on--and actually, the kind that you favor chewing on one ear over the other (she give exclusive attention to the bear's left ear. strange, i know).

my semester is almost over!

pictured are the 3 of the 4 classes i taught this last semester (and whose final papers i'm still grading). i'm not sure where the 4th class is....hmm....i'll have to work on that. anyway, my students and i had some special bonds. sure, some of them hated me, but i think for the most part, we ended the semester on good terms.

question of the day

how is it that, when you talk to your dog, she knows to look you in your eyes? she's not looking at the arm that you're moving as you speak. she's not watching your mouth--where the noise is coming from. but she's looking at your eyes. she's making eye-contact w/ you. why?

i'm not really sure, but it reminds me of this onion article that i'm sure you'll enjoy if you take 3 minutes to read it.

ok, so i'm a little obsessed.....

somebody needs to stop me. seriously. in between grading papers, i obsessively check one website in particular. no it's not facebook or twitter or even this blog (although i do frequent it). rather, the website i go to most often these days is http://www.freebies4mom.blogspot.com/ ....and no, you do not need to be a mom to appreciate this site. as a matter of fact, brent bookmarked it yesterday because he discovered that he could get free music downloads there....but that's definitely not where it stops.
