i'm quite sure that neither brent nor i own any calvin klein shorts. but our 11 week old son does. so it goes. that's parenting for you, i guess. (and great shopping. i bought these at a secondhand kids' store in scottsdale.)

papa and elliot

i'm sad that i didn't capture more of this on video, but it's still such a precious thing. this is a clip of my dad singing to little elliot. he was completely mesmerized by his papa, would stop crying immediately and just watch him intently until he finished singing! (here, he's singing "Jesus loves the little children") we think he's gonna be a lover of music for sure. =) we already KNOW he loves his papa.

elliot's first bath

lest you think to yourself, "this kid's gonna be 10 weeks old tomorrow....and they're just NOW giving him his first bath??" it's an old video. so don't worry. i'm just NOW posting it though.

denny collins, a friend of ours from church, did this beautiful photo shoot for our family. it's basically elliot's 1 month photo. clearly, he had an unhappy moment but mostly good. sweet boy.

oh, elliot is sooo spritual.... =) here's a pic of elliot and daddy enjoying a quiet time together. i love that elliot is smiling....i'm sure it's b/c he's totally enjoying his time in the word. =)

fun in the jungle

here's a fun little clip of one of elliot's first times in his bouncy chair from his auntie megan (leeman). so sweet.

inducted....

i think i'm well on my way to being inducted into the official realm of mommyhood. this happened when i:

1) found myself picking someone ELSE'S nose.
2) was urinated on in the face. and the shirt. and on our wall.
3) hooked myself up to a breast pump not unlike your average jersey cow.
4) shamelessly went to the easter sunrise service with a wet (WET) shoulder from projectile vomit just moments before walking out of our front door.
5) began pronouncing a perfectly good word like diapers, "diapies."
6) rewrote the song "rubber ducky" to say "elliot maxwell."

ok, so 6 isn't bad but isn't that impressive either. i'm sure the list will keep growing. for now, though, i need to run to target to return $3 onesies that i think were overpriced and pick up some bottle liners that actually seal on top.

elliot has visitors!

elliot has been blessed to have SO many visitors. he's LOVED seeing all of his friends and family. below are his auntie terese, terri, valerie, and taylor. then there was the visit by uncle davey and auntie breeann. so so so very special. brent and i LOVED spending time w/ my brother and his great fiance. what an awesome couple. elliot couldn't get enough of uncle david's funny faces and noises. we'll get to see my brother and breeann in july when they get married!! brent and i have the honor of standing up for them. yay!!
